A New Website for New Horizons

Hayley, the wonderful owner and registered Therapist and Hypnotherapist of New Horizons Therapy Centre in Leverington, (Cambridgeshire) came to me asking whether I would be able to help her in sorting out her website.

Her website had been completed by someone she found randomly, years ago. He created her website using Wix, made a pretty basic job of it, and left Hayley with a website she wasn’t actually happy with.

The issues with her website were predominantly that it was VERY convoluted; there were too many pages, too much in the top navigation menu, and too much text on each page. Therefore making it difficult to navigate as a new customer which can ultimately result in interested visitors leaving her site. The design was very outdated and there was little house style and branding too. This generally comes across unprofessional and isn’t aesthetically pleasing for new customers either.

So, I suggested we produce a brand new website, because realistically to go into her existing site and amend that, would probably take me longer than to build a new one! So that’s what we did.

I use WordPress – big fan! And I set Hayley up on the Premium Plan. The design I suggested to Hayley incorporated her house style, which is yellows, greens, white background, with grey text (based on her logo). We wanted to keep it simple, so that it has a really clear navigation and layout for new customers, to read: 1) What she can offer her clients 2) This is who Hayley is and her experience 3) Testimonials (Proof is in the pudding!) 4) And here’s how to contact me and book an appointment

The website design that I chose for Hayley was relaxed, using rounded, fluid shapes for her images, which harmonises with her soft and natural colours. Her images are all non-copyright (as well as some of her own), and these are also relaxed scenes. I wanted her website to really reflect what Hayley does, as well as mirror the relaxed and inviting feeling you experience when you walk into her therapy centre.

Hayley loves her website, and I’m so pleased that she does. She told me the other day that she can’t believe how many enquiries she has received since we went live with her new website, which is ultimately the whole point!
